Showcase Sunday # 10

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Books, Biscuits, and Tea
This is where each Sunday, we can "showcase" what we've gotten in the way of books;
in the mail, at the bookstore, the library, or as a gift!

Only a few books to share from these past 2 weeks. I was lucky enough to attend Erin Bowman's release party in CT for Taken with my aunt, sister, and cousin. We made it a girls day with mani/pedi's and topped it off with a fabulous chicken taco dinner with my aunt, uncle, sister and cousins! :)

Books Bought:

I met Erin back in February when I attended the Cambridge, MA Pitch Dark Dark Days tour event, as she was among the many who wanted to meet the authors and get her books signed. It just so happens that she grew up in CT about 45 minutes from where my aunt lives, and since my sister, aunt, and I all enjoy YA novels, I made a weekend out of it and it was a blast! Erin talked for about half an hour, answered questions, and she kept referring to the fact that she had no idea what she was doing as it was her first signing. She had an adorable and bright display of all her books with balloons and she had a ton of swag which she was running low on (the cover is just gorgeous, and all of the swag has the cover art!).

What's funny is that I'm wearing almost the exact same outfit as the day I met her back in February. Cardigan and jeans is what's up!

Books Traded:

YA Book Exchange continues to be my favorite website for all things book trading. It's such a simple concept, and for a few dollars shipping, you can get a new book you want for one you've already read and want to pass on!

I want to thank the person who I traded for this book, but I've been trading so many books recently I can't remember! : ( I'm sorry!

Books Won:

Fake Steph (or just Steph!) from The Fake Steph Dot Com blog has a TBR intervention contest, where she reads a book on her TBR pile and then gives it away to a lucky winner, and as the vote came to Pivot Point, I was the runner up (the first winner already had Pivot Point), so I won! Steph also sent a note with a bookmark from her blog (and as I love bookmarks), it was really sweet for her to personalize it with the note. :) You can check out Steph's review of Pivot Point on her blog. Thank you Steph!!

That's it for me. :)

Happy Reading!

  1. I remember loving Shiver when I read it a couple of years ago, it was such a great book! Ooh, I've heard amazing things about Pivot Point but not a lot of good things about Taken. But hopefully you'll enjoy it!
    Great haul! :D

    1. It's taken me so long to get into the Shiver series because I heard it was boring, but I read a review on Real Men Read YA and he made it seem just as silly/awesome as Twilight but with Vampires, so I knew I would like it.

Thanks for following and for stopping by, Samantha!

  3. Erin Bowman sounds like such a sweetheart and very humble / down to earth. Love the balloons! And that's awesome you were able to bring your fam to the event. Krista just bought Pivot Point, which is a sign that it's good since she already read it. It has a very, very pretty cover :)

    1. If I hadn't won Pivot Point from Steph, I would have bought my own copy. Krista's review on the blog a while ago sealed the deal for me! And it does have a very gorgeous cover!

      Thanks for stopping by, Becca!

    1. Taken's cover is absolutely beautiful! You should go and buy yourself a copy, it's worth it just to show it off on your bookshelf!

Thanks for checking out my haul, Haley!
